Gideon's Daughter - 5 stars

I just saw Gideon's Daughter and my what a lovely film! I am inundated with fascination with the director, Poliakoff, and the actors - Bill Nighy, Emily Blunt, and Miranda Richardson. Gorgeous, profound, moving, and brave. There are so many wonderful moments in the film that taps your humanity - in sympathy for someone's loss, someone's fear of losing, and someone who is lost. I am not speaking of course that this sentiment is universal because connection with any works of art is a personal experience. I merely meant that it resonated some very profound things in me. In a very direct and moving way.
Nighy was amazing and truly mesmerizing - a very gallant and dignified struggling soul. Miranda was delicious in her joie de vivre - born out of pains and sorrows. And Emily, oh sweet Emily was an enigma of hope and love and dreams and, ah, lingering in my head still.
